October 2009 Firearm Auction Grosses $1.7 Million!

October 28, 2009 ~ In spite of the weakened economy Poulin Auction Co.’s fall firearm & militaria auction was an impressive success. The buzz was in the air as one of the largest crowds to ever attend traveled from far and away to partake in the three day event. The involvement of the massive crowd, phone participants, absentee bidders, and online bids via Artfact.com fueled the intense bidding fury throughout the weekend resulting in strong prices and a $1.7 Million gross blowing well past the low estimate. Julia’s Fall Firearm Extraordinaire which ran in conjunction grossed nearly $11 Million. That totals nearly $13 Million of sales in 1 week!

Poulin’s auction offered a diverse selection of arms and accoutrements from over a hundred consignors from across the country including; the Carl Metz Collection of U.S. Militaria, Ted Knee’s, long term member of the American Society of Arms Collectors, assemblage of fine Colts and Winchesters, and Peter S. When drawing attention to an auction the larger and broader the selection of fine quality items the greater the participation from away and the larger the crowd that travels from afar. The increase in interest translates into the fantastic sales results that continue year after year. Over the past three years Poulin’s Auction Co. has averaged approximately $1.5 million in sales per auction. Over the previous six years Julia’s has averaged $10 million in sales per auction. It is the participation from the vast clientele that the Poulin/Julia event draws that fuels the continuous impressive sale results.

Poulin Auction Co. will host the next firearm sale in conjunction with James D. Julia’s Premiere Firearm Auction in March 2010.
